Russian Citizen Deported from Bali for Involvement in Prostitution
DENPASAR – The Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, through immigration officers and the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim), has deported hundreds of people this year. The latest case involves a Russian citizen, identified as AA (32), who was deported for involvement in prostitution in Bali.
AA was deported by officers from the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center on Thursday (September 5). According to a press release on Friday (September 6), AA first arrived in Indonesia on December 23, 2020, using a business visa. He later extended his stay by obtaining an investor’s Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS), which was valid until 2025.
AA claimed that he had been living in Bali for both leisure and work purposes, serving as a marketing manager for a Russia-based online cosmetic store, earning a monthly salary of approximately 200,000 Russian Rubles.
However, intelligence operations revealed AA’s involvement in prostitution activities at a villa in the Seminyak area of Kuta. Alongside another foreign national, NP (26), AA was apprehended by the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) from the Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office during a raid on the premises.
Evidence indicated that AA’s earnings from the illegal activities ranged between 15 to 20 million Indonesian Rupiah, although the income was inconsistent. During the raid, AA was also found with 5 million Rupiah in cash.
The Head of the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center, Gede Dudy Duwita, emphasized that the deportation was a firm measure to uphold immigration laws. “We are committed to carrying out our duties in accordance with the prevailing regulations. This deportation demonstrates that we will not tolerate the misuse of residence permits in Indonesia,” he stated.
Pramella Yunidar Pasaribu, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, added, “Enforcement of immigration laws is a crucial part of our efforts to maintain security and order in Bali. We hope this action serves as a reminder to both the public and foreign nationals to comply with the regulations in place,” she said.
