Foreigners Allegedly Use Villa for Unlicensed Teaching Activities
MANGUPURA – The Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office conducted a visit to a villa in Tibubeneng, North Kuta, on Monday (19/8), following reports of suspected unauthorized educational activities by foreign nationals.
Initial investigations suggest that the villa was being used as a learning center for children, offering lessons in writing, mathematics, science, and Indonesian language.
Suhendra, Head of the Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office, stated that the visit was prompted by public concerns over the activities at the villa. Upon arrival, officers found an Indonesian national and two foreigners engaged in these activities.
“The villa is rented by a Swiss couple, and their operations manager is a Turkish national,” Suhendra revealed on Monday (26/8).
According to Suhendra, passport checks identified the three foreigners involved: CK, a Turkish national who arrived in Bali on June 25, 2024, on a visitor visa; PHB, a Swiss national who entered Bali on July 19, 2024, with an investor KITAS (Limited Stay Permit); and JMB, also from Switzerland, who arrived on the same day with a similar permit.
Ngurah Rai Immigration has summoned the three individuals for further questioning at their office. While the summons was issued for Friday (23/8), not all parties have complied, leading to an ongoing investigation with no final conclusions yet reached.
